Keyboard doesn’t work after first boot

Postby kasparwinston » Fri Jul 12, 2024 7:15 pm

Hello.

I just installed Arch Linux Arm on my Raspberry Pi 5 for the first time. I got it to boot just fine.
However, when I see the “alarm login” prompt, it doesn’t register any input from my keyboard. It detects that it’s a USB device and marks it as a “keyboard hub,” but trying to type anything doesn’t work. I am unable to login because of this.
The keyboard is a 2015 Apple keyboard.
I would appreciate any help with this issue.

Nevermind, I just tried a different keyboard and it works. The keyboard that didn’t work had one of those weird USBs with the notch on it. That might have something to do with it.

One workaround I've came across is to connect the keyboard to a USB hub.
That said, on the Pi it was properly fixed with a firmware update.
