[RESOLVED] Suddenly Unstable Pogo V2

Postby Socaltom » Tue Feb 14, 2012 10:10 pm

Recently I started having stability problems with my V2. Initially it would lock up ( light still on but won't respond to SSH, or anything else) when I tried to save a file to my home drive ( using samba) using MS word. Now its increased to where it also locks up when I go past the start up screen using webmin's web access. I can log in and get to the next screen, but it stops responding after that.

I've run fsck on another pogo, it found lots of errors. I've also reinstalled samba and webmin, but the problem continues.
I'm also getting a pacman error that says.$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
[root@Arch Linux ARM install ~]# pacman -Sy webmin

I'f I don't upgrade pacman I get these errors$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '

Is your root filesystem on a flash drive? 99% of the inexplicable, random errors that happen are because flash drives are dying or having some sort of problem.

No, but upgrading to the new kernel resolved it. I found another post about issues with Samba and the kernel, so I updated the kernel and the problem resolved. Webmin was trying to write just like samba and locking up the system.

I'm having the EXACT same problem as the OP. Can you tell me what kernel you upgraded to? I'm on 3.1.10-2-ARCH running on a "pink" pogo. I didn't think there was a newer kernel available, since I upgraded about a month ago. But I'll keep searching...

thanks

The latest kernel is 3.1.10-4. If you pacman -Syu, it should pull it in. The problem above was from 3.1.10-1, which I reverted away from in 3.1.10-2. Either way, an upgrade wouldn't be a bad thing.

Hmm okay, after kernel upgrade, now I get this:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'warning: tcp_wrappers: local (7.6-13) is newer than core (7.6-12)')

But everything else seems to be working OK, and it's just a warning.
