Problems with freenx

Hi there
I installed Arch Linux ARM on my openrd client device (followd the excellent guide at http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv5/openrd )
Works perfectly so far.
Now I wanted to install lxde and use it via freenx.
I followed the guide at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/FreeNX and installed all relevant tools like xorg lxde freenx ... (can provide a pacman log on demand)
The installation completed succesfully but when I try to use the NX Client for Windows (from nomachine.com; Release: 3.5.0-7) it fails at the "Negotiating link parameters" step.

Any suggestions whats wrong here?

It looks like it might be having a problem starting X, have you tried getting a desktop started just on the device itself? You can just plug in a monitor and run startx or whatever over ssh.

You might also want to try what it says from another Linux box:

Hi there,

Sorry for my late response.
No success getting a desktop to start (followed https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginners'_Guide from the "Graphical User Interface" and afterwards https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xfce)
The screen just stays black.

did you install a fb device, ie
pacman -S xf86-video-fbdev

and to start
xinit /usr/bin/lxsession

I was trying to get x running without freenx this time. I removed the bash_completion from the /etc/bashrc.

Hello friends, I got similar problem on my Rasp Pi too.

On fresh installation I follow the easy guide to install Lxde (and it run with command xinit /usr/bin/lxsession).
After I follow this guide https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/FreeNX (the same of the first post) and I got the same problem.

Searching on google I found similar post with similar problem like this: https://github.com/archlinuxarm/PKGBUILDs/issues/203

Any new ideas?
