Hello all,
I tried putting alarm on my go flex net like 6 months ago and due to problems I couldn't understand, I gave up. Fortunately I figured those problems out last week and re-installed alarm on my drive that was at the time being used. Since it wasn't a fresh install I just wiped the drive and unpacked the most recent tarball into it. I got everything working, but I don't think I still have the rescue system as described here. Everything is working, but I know my MAC address is not the same as it was.
TL;DR
Is it a problem that my MAC address is different? And if so how can I change it back? I know I can spoof it from boot to boot with:$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'ip link set dev eth0 address XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX')
Except with my appropriate MAC address. I also know the more permanent solution of spoofing it at boot with /etc/rc.d/functions.d/macspoof, but both of these options seem somewhat less permanent than I would like. Is there a way for me to change my MAC address back to what it ought to be without spoofing that I just don't know of? Is it really worth worrying over this much?
Thanks in advance,
Wes
