Yeah, what blurry said.
I'm trying to get Displaylink working with my Pogoplug Pink and the very latest Arch Linux. I've got the udlfb module loaded and can use it with fbcon to get a console, which is pretty cool. (Thanks for that tip, blurry.) In fact, with tmux, mutt, links, calcurse, and a little script I wrote called dosedit, I almost don't need X, except that links doesn't work well with Javascript. Oh, and videos -- can't watch videos on a console. Almost forgot about that. Unless I can figure out how to get MPlayer to run against the framebuffer.
Can't figure out how to get xorg working. There's no xf86-displaylink driver that I can find. I've tried using the delivered fbdev xorg driver, but either it doesn't work or I'm not smart enough to figure out how to configure xorg.conf to make it work. I tried downloading and compiling the displaylink driver on my own, but I get errors about a missing xf86Resources.h file. I found a copy of sombody's xf86Resources.h file somewhere, but using that gave me a whole lot more errors.
So, what do I do next? Besides being content with just a console, that is. I can try stealing the displaylink xorg driver from Debian Squeeze armel. Would that work or are these drivers kernel/distribution-specific? Or should I just be patient and wait for y'all fine folks working on Archlinux Arm to catch up with the hardware?
