[Solved] unable to mount ntfs - "Transport Endpoint" error

Postby permitivity » Fri Jun 14, 2013 2:48 pm

I have a USB dock with a hard drive that has two partitions. Automount doesn't seem to be able to mount these. "dmesg" gets "Transport endpoint is not connected" messages.

Trying to mount the partitions manually using "mount' creates the same problem on one partition. The other partition mounts correctly.

Other people have had this problem before from my forum search. But, there isn't really a solution. Just wondering if there is now. I don't know if there's something I need to do with my NTFS partitions, like run check disk or some weird fix tool. Maybe windows is ok with some type of partition errors and Linux is more picky?

I just installed Arch on a Pogoplug 2 weeks ago. Not sure which version I'm using.

Solved the problem by using udevil instead of udev-automount.
