Running Arch off Sata drive on the GoFlex slower or faster?

Postby yazyazoo » Sat Jul 06, 2013 4:25 am

I just purchased the GoFlex Home which has a 2TB 3.5 SATA built on top of the GoFlex base. I was going to install Arch on it and was looking over the install. It seems to install directly onto the 2TB drive. I was wondering if having Arch run off the SATA drive vs the USB stick is slower? I plan to run Sabnzbd, Sickbeard, Couchpotato with a swapfile which takes a lot of CPU power. Will running the OS and storage for the Sabnzbd downloads slow things down?

Thanks.

The attached SATA bus is much faster than the USB. It will win in performance, always.
