forum issues - trying to quote reply, "topic is too old"

I just tried to quote a reply from another forum member on a 3 day old post. I got this message:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')his topic is too old to reply, so, it's locked now. Thanks.

I can still reply to the thread, but I can't use the quote button. Maybe there's a bug with the forum? It's not happened to me before.
