Want to run command line Dropbox on my Arch Linux ARM install

Postby markcerv » Tue Jan 18, 2011 9:33 pm

Hello.

I'm a big fan of dropbox.com, and wanted to install the Command Line Interface onto my Arch Linux ARM install following these steps:
http://wiki.dropbox.com/TipsAndTricks/T ... nuxInstall

However, it doesn't work. :(

Has anyone gotten dropbox to work on their Arch Linux ARM install?

(note: I successfully followed the above steps on a x86 based Ubuntu box that I also have running at home)

What about Ubuntu One? From what I've read it should be possible to use u1sync or u1sdtool without all of the GNOME dependencies and GUI stuff.

I don't have my PogoPlug yet, nor do I have an Ubuntu One account, but I might give it a shot.

I know this is a rather dated thread but it is the most relevant for getting the word out:

For simple things, like only sending and receiving files/dirs to your dropbox account (not daemonized or auto-sync), there is a bash script that works regardless of platform by using the DropboxAPI option. Tested and works.

If you really want the auto-sync option, the only method I have found (that is still buggy apparently) is through qemu. Else, wait for the dropbox devs to release an arm source.

was it system or use emulation?
What did work/not work?

Thanks
