Alsa Sound is not working

Postby boina » Sun Dec 20, 2015 11:19 pm

Hello all,

I have raspberry pi that used to be configured to run mpd and to connect via bluetooth with speakers and was working perfect.
After some update there was no more sound output (it took me awhile to find this out because I was not listening to music).
I tried unistalling all packages related to bluetooth, pulseaudio and alsa.
After that I re-installed alsamixer and dependecies but there is no sound after running speaker test.

When I go to alsamixer to see the settings (not muted) I see:

Card: bcm2835 ALSA
Chip: Broadcom Mixer

and alsactl init gives me the following:

Found hardware: "bcm2835" "Broadcom Mixer" "" "" ""
Hardware is initialized using a generic method

Which does not look OK to me. I could be terribly wrong but broadcom seems like the bluetooth usb dongle that I used to have when it was working properly.

I'm really lost with this issue and I would not like to run a full system re-install again becuase I have owncloud also runnning on that pi.

Thanks in advanced, jose.
