Oh, ppl actually flash stuff to NAND on PROs now? I must have missed that reading the forums only once or twice a month

I misunderstood your intentions, thought this thread's for compiling new modules only (good ol'module pack). That's why I was paying attention that all the config changes are marked as modules and not compiled statically into kernel's image.

Cheers to flashing stuff then, I'll wait untill it's final.

So what's left to add are: PKG's NFS support (v3 was there already but you need v4 and NFSD..?), Geoff's HID support, EricBetts's dongle *cough, cough*, if I am reading it all correctly? After that we're good to go? :)

@Geoff: CONFIG_CRYPTO_AES=y was enabled by default. XTS was added in my config, not sure about the "plain" thingy you reffered to. The only crypto-hardware module that's in that kernel version was added as well.

The problem is symbols in the kernel aren't there unless it's all turned on at image compilation. Hence the need.

Please add CONFIG_USB_NET_CDCETHER (depends on CONFIG_USB_USBNET). Both available as module.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('WarheadsSE', 'B')ecause those using a NAND install will need to flash this, I'm going to have to do this as few times as possible ;)

I'm not trying to rush you into anything, but I just wanted to clarify: most NAND flash components support many thousands of erase/write cycles. Is this not the case with the pogoplug?

It is the case, but let me put it this way:

Do you feel like re-flashing the same address in NAND 10x until we get every-last-thing there?

No, but not due to concerns over limited Flash write-cycles. It just seemed to me that was a concern, but I'm glad it's not. I'll patiently wait for the next release.

This is wonderful news. Thanks very, very much, WarheadSE.

Unfortunately I do not have the kernel source on my machine so can't give you a .config itself. But I looked up stuff from kernel.xc.net and it seems the following options would make my day:

CONFIG_USB_ACM (for the cdc_acm driver)
CONFIG_USB (for the usbcore module)
CONFIG_BT_HCIBTUSB (for the btusb driver)

As mentioned in a different thread, the idea is to be enable the Pogoplug to connect to a mobile phone.

Thanks a great deal!

Edit: Out of these three, only CONFIG_USB_ACM needs to be changed in kwave's .config - the other two are already on.

I can't give you the full config because I didn't have it created when I killed my pogoplug (still waiting for the serial cable to arrive). But thanks to the previous commenter's helpful pointer to kernel.xc.net, it looks like I just need:
CONFIG_USB_VIDEO_CLASS
and
CONFIG_USB_SERIAL_FTDI_SIO

Thanks!

I will also add the PL2303 chipsets for those with CA-42's, etc.

Telzey has done some backporting of my LED class driver, as well as merging the Iomega/Medion 2.6.31.14 code, so this will likely turn out to be a slight bump as well.
