Help needed for pogoplug Pro

Postby nekingll » Tue Mar 27, 2012 12:51 pm

Hi there,
First of all,My pogoplug can't not start.
Here is the sicution:my Pogoplug boots and the front LED blinks wildly for about 15-20 seconds and then TURNS OFF, I can see the Ethernet LED and USE drive's LED are blink.
or
power on without the USB drive,my pogoplug boots and the front LED keep blinks all day long.
I check from my router, didnt show pogoplug get the IP address by both of this two way start.

What I did to my pogoplug:
It is my first time trying to install archlinux on my pogoplug Pro.I use a 16GB USB drive and pogoplug Pro,
follow the instruction at this link,
http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv6 ... provideov3
finished step 14
If you want to have your plug automount drives when they're plugged in. Install the udev rules:
pacman -Sy udev-automount
If the LED on the front is still blinking after booting, rebuild the module dependencies.
depmod -a
Then, reboot again:
/sbin/reboot

Then I can't use putty link to pogoplug anymore.
at the bottom of instruction said:there is likely something that has stopped the network. It's not a brick, but be ready to troubleshoot.

Please help me save my pogoplug,
What I can do now?

Thanks a lot.

Couple of things:
- you haven't done much customization yet, so re-imaging per the instructions at the bottom of the install page won't hurt.
- make sure your PuTTY is up to date
- Recently, and update has asked to replace udev-oxnas with udev, allow it to, but then immediately (as in before rebooting) `pacman -Syf udev-oxnas`
- In the end, a serial cable will always save you.

Generally, you should update immediately after install, with any operating system. As with any system, pay attention to what it is doing.

pacman -Syu
