would like to format to ext4

Postby TheDurtch » Fri May 18, 2012 8:26 pm

i would like to format my root to ext4 but according to what i have been reading UBoot says no  but now i am thinking could i just split my hard drive into different partitions, so i am thinking (if it can work) make "/boot" ext2 and should i just make "/home" ext4 or "/" ext4.

U-boot does not like Ext4. You can split partitions, but you need to make all the appropriate changes.

I'd suggest a small (maybe 10G on the high side) /root formated Ext3 (since Ext3 can be used as Ext2) and the rest as an Ext4.

Don't use this on a flash drive :p
