$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('WarheadsSE', 'H')as everyone simply tried running Syu until it stops asking, but ensuring that both udev-oxnas and openssl are installed?

Perhaps:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
pacman -Syu (no to pacman first)
pacman -Syu
pacman Sf udev-oxnas openssl
')

This fixed the issue for me. Thanks a lot!

Hi, I seem to be having the same problem. I overwrote some files when I updated my system before installing a package and now I can't ssh into my plug. From what I understand from this thread, I need to simply redo my installation with the original instructions. My only problem is connecting via ssh is the first instruction! Am I correct? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Seriously? No. You need to redo your rootfs as per the instructions on the bottom of the install page.

And a month later i fall into the same problem :oops:

We should have a section for tips and tricks. ¿So the one solution is re-do rootf? As is see it is, but had to ask.

hey guys, I might have came to the same problem, anyone could help troubleshooting it?
It's a pink POGO-P21, system runs from external harddrive.

Recently a pacman -Syu told that pacman needs to update itself first and if I say yes for the update, it will ask if I want to replace udev-oxnas with udev.
If I say no to this replace, then no update will be carried out.
I gave no because udev-oxnas sounds much better for the plug lol

After a while I did pacman -S pacman to update itself, and this time it looks like didn't bother me with the udev.
And pacman -Syu did fine afterwards. Looks like the udev-oxnas was not replaced during the process?

Now I have rebooted the plug, the frond led blinks for a while then off, the network led has solid green and flashing amber.
However I can't ping through to it. Looks like the network interface is not up?

So did I messed up the udev thing?
Do I have to redo the rootfs as per the instruction page?

Or something could wrong with my external harddrive?

Regards,
rampage

Pick a thread. Post in it. Not 3.

Read the forums, many times the process is explained. Try firing up a livecd or vm and examining the logs.

I am not sure if I am having the same problem as described in this thread.

Device:
Pogoplug B01 (Pink)
Sata attached rootfs

I ran the procedure outlined by warheadsse:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', ' ') pacman -Syu (no to pacman first)
pacman -Syu
pacman -Sf udev-oxnas openssl

When I reboot afterwards the network interface doesn't come up. (ping from another host returns Host unreachable).
I confirmed my network settings are still in /etc/rc.conf, and network is still in the DAEMONS startup list.

Unfortunately I do not have a serial cable to watch the boot process. If I restore my original rootfs tarball all is fine.

Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Edit your rc.local offline and set a
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
sleep 10
halt
')

Then you can review all the logs while having safely shutdown & unmounted the file systems.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I added the entries to rc.local but the box never shutdown. I guess that means something is hanging before rc.local runs.

I will see about updating again and look closer to make sure something isn't failing or erroring out. Worst case I can just run on my Dec 2011 snapshot of rootfs.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('WarheadsSE', 'E')dit your rc.local offline and set a
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
sleep 10
halt
')

Then you can review all the logs while having safely shutdown & unmounted the file systems.
