No package 'libnautilus-extension' found

Postby kitenski » Fri Aug 03, 2012 10:11 am

Good morning,

I am trying to configure dropbox on my Pogo plug, but when I run the configure command I get this error. I've searched the package repositories, but cannot find this particular one.

Can anyone let me know how to install this package please?

checking pkg-config is at least version 0.9.0... yes
checking for NAUTILUS... configure: error: Package requirements (libnautilus-extension >= 2.16.0) were not met:

You are using Arch right? I believe nautilus is a Debian package.
Also, I know dropbox compiles on debian-arm, but if you are using arch, how did you get it to run? I kept getting "line 10:cannot execute binary file"

Have you seen this?

and this?

Ignore those....they don't work

It will compile....but guess what?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'root /opt/dropbox # dropbox start
Starting Dropbox.../usr/bin/dropboxd: line 10: /opt/dropbox/dropbox: cannot execute binary file
')

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'root /opt/dropbox # file dropbox
dropbox: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.8, stripped
')

Looks x86 only

Yep, after replying I did the same, having to edit the PKGBUILD to not try to find dropbox.desktop and the others that are missing. I was under the impression that the daemon required dropbox.desktop to at least be available regardless if it is used on a headless arch. But I see now it only compiled for x86.

Dropbox forum is full of "We want ARM port" votes and threads, all are talking of meanwhile alternatives (box.net, owncloud).

Someone tried forcing it to run through qemu, but no dice.

Also, my mistake, nautilus is open to many distros, just not alarm.

EDIT:
For simple things, like only sending and receiving files/dirs to your dropbox account (not daemonized or auto-sync), there is a bash script that works regardless of platform by using the DropboxAPI option. Tested and works.
