Yep, after replying I did the same, having to edit the PKGBUILD to not try to find dropbox.desktop and the others that are missing. I was under the impression that the daemon required dropbox.desktop to at least be available regardless if it is used on a headless arch. But I see now it only compiled for x86.
Dropbox forum is full of "We want ARM port" votes and threads, all are talking of meanwhile alternatives (box.net, owncloud).
Someone tried forcing it to run through qemu, but no dice.
Also, my mistake, nautilus is open to many distros, just not alarm.
EDIT:
For simple things, like only sending and receiving files/dirs to your dropbox account (not daemonized or auto-sync), there is a bash script that works regardless of platform by using the DropboxAPI option. Tested and works.
