I mean, is it working out of the box using the standard rootfs.
And additionally, is it hw-accelerated...

In fact I would like to know what features are missing and what hardware is and isn't supported, when using the cubox as a media player (not a pvr)
I would be a good idea to add these informations to each platform page, especially for 'multimedia-able' platforms

Because arch can "support" platforms differently. For instance, if a platform is supported, we can suppose that the provided rootfs will boot, but does it mean that (for instance):
- hardware acceleration is working (with or without binary drivers)
- sound output is working on hdmi
- sound output is working on spdif

I can't seem to play hardware assisted videos (I'm saying this because they are skipping) in Cubox with Archlinux. Since I was using it only as a server, I may have missed something.

So, in order to have a decent video player, what is the recommendation for software and configuration under Arch? Mplayer, libs, helprs, DEs, etc?

Or, if nobody has a recommendation, at least are there example of installed libs/software that seems to be able to play 1080p (or 720p) videos? (I'm thinking mkv, x264, dts, Double Digital, etc, or the usual combinations)

Thanks,
SP

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('slashproc', 'I') can't seem to play hardware assisted videos (I'm saying this because they are skipping) in Cubox with Archlinux.

There's currently a pull request including xbmc with hardware acceleration.

I recommend overclocking vmeta to get a extra bit of performance:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'echo 667000000 > /sys/devices/platform/dove_clocks_sysfs.0/vmeta ')
rabeeh (cubox engineer) says this is safe and is likely to become the becomes the new default.

By following that link it seems that the merge for the pull request didn't work out well. Something missing, perhaps? I can't wait to get my "mouse" on that version of xbmc for the cubox!

I'll try that as soon as I can. But anyway, I'd rather have hw acceleration wherever possible.
