Register_ globals and safe_mode off

Postby toiletpaper » Mon Nov 19, 2012 12:01 am

Hi,

I am new to linux and I have been stuck trying to install drupal on cherokee.

I have been getting this :
"Some of your PHP settings do not meet Drupal's requirements. Please edit your PHP configuration files and try again."

Register_globals expected value off, current value [blank]
Safe_mode expected value off, current value [blank]

I went into /etc/php/php.ini and added register_globals = Off and safe_mode = Off. Nothing happened i am still getting the same error. Can somebody help?

Thanks in advance.

restart php daemon or cherokee (however you have it setup) to apply the changes?

Little research showed that both directives were deprecated with version 5.3 and remove in 5.4. Php is at version 5.4.8 in repos. I would try to manually install the latest drupal version or the _dev version.
