so you are mounting a remote samba share on the pogoplug? pass iocharset=utf8 to mount

yes, for now, I am mounting a remote samba, i.e. using the pogo as a samba client.

I will try that mount option and update.

Do I need kernel support for this purpose? or just Chinese font support is enough?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('moonman', 's')o you are mounting a remote samba share on the pogoplug? pass iocharset=utf8 to mount

iocharset=utf8 worked. however I want to test if it works without kernel support. :)

it should work as what i changed in the kernel is for local filesystems and for filenames not using utf8

Yes, you are right. It works without kernel support. Just iocharset=utf8 is enough for remote mounted cifs shares.

Now I have another questions:
If I would install torrent client on the Pogo to download files which include Chinese in its name, then I will need kernel support for local files systems?

If files are created with utf8 (afaik they will be) everything should be fine without a new kernel. If you plugin a fat32 drive it *may* not work if the file was created with a different charset.

Thanks! for the time being, I have downloaded and saved your modified kernel.

I am using the "regular" kernel with iocharset=utf8 and t works fine.
