Serial + SATA, together will get you more information as to what is happening.

3.3v TTL serial, not PC 12V serial. Do not mix.

A CA-42 is 3.3vTTL. Or, you can get one pre-made that doesn't take a month to arrive from China.

1) You need to figure out the correct wires, most wikis tell you this.
2) A multimeter will help, and many wikis have the listed parts from the original nokia tip to which wires/pins are which.
3) The headers is a perfect fit for a 4 pin JST.

This is driving me nuts somehow...
I found out the right pins of the cable
black is ground
blue RX
white TX
I mus also connect the red 3.3 V Power cable, or else nothing happens.
As soon as i connect Nokia USB cable and then powercord of the PP a new device pops up and installs without any problems. BUT this is not a COM port that really need, it's a Modem Device! I tried Win7, XP and Linux, all i got is a CA-42 Modem device or Nokia CA Parent or something. So, i stuck there again...

Vollks, would you just share a picture of your cable with me??

I just read a little bit about the cable specifications. Obviosly i need an older version. DKU-5 still got COM emulation within, a new CA-42 doesn't. That explains why i can get no COM port. So, i maybe need a right cable first.

You just need to get the prolific drivers that make it a COM port.

First you gotta have a prolific chip inside. I obviosly don't have one, so no driver gonna help. I will get some more cables and then be back.

Got another cable, Nokia genuine. The cable can be installed as a COM to UART with the oti 6858 Chip inside, but i still can't get no communication via Putty or Linux Terminal. It is not possible to wire it correctly due to the lack of information. Can someone post a picture of the right cable PLEASE??

Finally i got another clone cable. This item has only 3 wires , black, white and red and a prolific chip inside. It's immidiately recognized as COM10 without any problems. I still get no output neither in putty nor in linux terminal. The cursor ist just blinking, that's all. Black =>GND Red => TXD White => RXD

I tried to change RX TX cables, nothing happens! What the hell am i doing wrong???
