pacman -Syu fails on TonidoPlug (v2) with file conflicts

Postby cbcs01 » Tue Jun 04, 2013 3:30 pm

I ran pacman -Syu yesterday with no issues.
Today, there are 28 updates including filesystem-2013-05-2.
On the "checking for file conflicts" step, I get:
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
filesystem: /bin exists in filesystem
filesystem: /sbin exists in filesystem
filesystem: /usr/sbin exists in filesystem
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.
How do I get around this problem.
Version 3.1.10-20-ARCH

Thanks. That worked well.
The only item in /usr/sbin was rc.d.
Is there a need for this program any more?

rc.d is owned by filesystem and initscripts. I ran into the same problem. I tried moving sbin containing only rc.d to sbin_old and then performed the system update, but my system then failed to boot. Is initscripts still supported? Can it be easily removed by pacman?
