Filesystem upgrade process doesn't work on ODROID-X image

Postby avbotz » Mon Jun 10, 2013 6:43 am

Hi,

I am trying to set up an ODROID-X with Arch Linux and a GUI. I downloaded the Arch Linux image from ALARM and ran the commands from the Advanced tab to install the GUI.

These are the exact same errors I am seeing: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=46098&sid=45f194caf966187b456244fe8daedb09

Basically, there seems to be a circular dependency between glibc (required by the "startxfce4" command) and filesystem if a system has not kept up with updates. The Raspberry Pi circular dependency linked above was solved because they released a new image.

Since the ODROID-X image is old, how can I install filesystem to install glibc to use startxfce4? Are there plans for a new image?

Thank you,

P.S. If anybody's interested, the ODROID will be the vision processing and mission planning computer in our submarine.

I am waiting for my Odroid U2, expected today.

So did you try
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'pacman -Syu --ignore filesystem,bash,glibc
pacman -S bash
pacman -Su')
filesystem and glibc have to be done together

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('pepedog', '
')$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'pacman -Syu --ignore filesystem,bash,glibc
pacman -S bash
pacman -Su')

I tried that with a clean image of Arch Linux.

The updates to gcc-libs and binutils that make it comply with the new executable locations depend on updating glibc. But the glibc update requires the filesystem update. Any ideas on how I can make it work?

thanks,
Kevin

The new image is not booting on my odroid-x. Is this image for the odroid-x, the odroid-x2 or both?

There is also no dtb file in the boot partition (kernel only), has the dtb moved to uboot or into the kernel?
