[Eclipse] Cannot execute binary armv7h

Postby cogdissonance » Sun Jul 07, 2013 1:57 am

I'm running Arch inside of a chroot on my Asus tf300t, I am using the android terminal emulator app to act as my term. So far everything (that should work on arm) runs beautifully, including vim, git, etc... So far I've been using the tablet as a development environment, at this point it's the main thing I use it for, and eclim (the eclipse plugin for vim) would really help with several things such as android development. I was able to build the eclim plugin from source for armv7 but was never able to test it because I cannot get eclipse to run, whether starting it in a vnc window or from the terminal. Every time I get the "Cannot execute binary" error.

Any help would be appreciated, Thank you.

I also encounter the same problem. Did you install eclipse from Arch pacman? Seems like no eclipse in pacman that is aimed for ARM architecture.

https://www.archlinux.org/packages/?sor ... =&flagged=

I execute $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'pacman -S eclipse-cdt')

, and encounter same problem as you:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', './eclipse: line 4: /usr/share/eclipse/eclipse: cannot execute binary file')

Try to run
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '#file *path-to-eclipse-executable*/eclipse
file /usr/share/eclipse/eclipse')

Mine returns:
/usr/share/eclipse/eclipse: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.2.
