Thank you for the information. I went a head and put Arch on the desktop, setup the software I'd be using and I let the two duke it out.
In terms of cpu power, the PC won. In terms of energy consumption, the Pogo won. It's not very surprising. What was suprising was the gap in power being so wide. I always knew that x86 was faster, but the observed results were staggering. The PC was a
Compaq from 2004. I figured the Pogo being newer would have closed the gap a bit. In reality, the PC curb stomped the Pogo.
Again, thank you. I'll play with these tools you've suggested and see if the Pogo can compete elsewhere besides simple energy consumption.
