Mali driver for U2

Postby jeky82 » Tue Oct 15, 2013 9:07 am

Hi,
I installed the Arch image for my U2, and XFCE desktop. All run fine an very smooth, but I was wandering how I can install official mali driver for 3d from hardkernel.

Thank you in advance for any answer :)

You can create and install PKGBUILDs from the Mali sources at malideveloper.com. You want the UMP and X11 display drivers. This will work but you will not have hardware acceleration.

In order to get 3D acceleration you also need libMali. Building libMali requires the proprietary Mali DDK: http://forums.arm.com/index.php?/topic/ ... -mali-ddk/

Another option is to borrow a pre-built libMali.so from another distribution. See my post here for instructions: http://forum.odroid.com/viewtopic.php?f ... 27e0630fb2

I hear you can get 3D acceleration with the sunxi/fbturbo drivers. A PKGBUILD is available at https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/sunxi-mali-git/. Once installed you may have to manually symlink /lib/libMali.so to point to /lib/libEGL.so.1.0.0, /lib/libGLESv1_CM.so.1.1.0, and /lib/libGLESv2.so.2.0.0.
