Cubieboard2 - No Terminal Scrolling?

Postby mininodes » Tue Oct 22, 2013 5:03 am

Hi all, I was able to get Arch installed on the Cubieboard2 easily thanks to the tutorial at http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv7 ... bieboard-2. Booting and login work great, and I can issue commands and get responses. However, as output fills the screen and lines are rendered, I of course come to the bottom of the monitor, but the terminal doesn't scroll. Although off the screen, a simple "clear" command will work as intended and bring me back to the top of the monitor. Anyone else experience this, and/or, have a solution to allow the output to scroll like normal?

Thanks in advance.

looks like the fex file has been fixed in a 4:3 resolution while we are all trying these boards in a 16:9 one :-)

You should $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'git clone https://github.com/linux-sunxi/sunxi-tools.git'), build it, then $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'bin2fex') the proper $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'script.bin') file into $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'script.fex'), change the default putting as example 4 in there and, compile back via $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'fex2bin') in the original place, amount, and reboot.

Here the display configuration options list … you are looking for the screen0_output_mode property!

You're saying you can't command-line scroll the console, correct?

Warhead, that is correct. This is only when actually sitting at the device and logged on...Meaning keyboard is hooked up to the board, and board is hooked up to my monitor.

If I go over to my laptop and use Putty to connect to the board's IP address, I can login and scrolling works normally.

So, you are expecting shift-pgup to scroll?

Well, actually, I suppose I was expecting the screen to scroll down as output was rendered.

Lets use this as an example...Lets say I boot the board, login, and then immediately untar an archive with 1,000 files in it verbosely.

The command executes, but where I would expect to see 1000 lines fly by rapidly, in my case I see the first 50 or so lines written to the screen but the monitor does not move along with the output. Its strange, I know.

Yes, that one is strange.
