You will need a spare microSD card. These are the steps to restore the orginal content of the emmc card:

1. dd the "emmc_installer.img" to the microSD card
2. insert both the emmc and the microSD cards into the board and set the switch to boot from the microSD.
3. Boot the board. The emmc card will be written automatically with the original contents taken from the microSD. Wait until the process is finished (when the green led goes off and the board will shutdown. cooler goes off too).

Now you have the original Android system and u-boot on the emmc card. You can boot from the emmc or continue with the steps to replace the Android with Arch Linux ARM.

Cheers!

raduab,

Thanks for the clarification on the need of an extra microSD. That's all I needed to get it working properly. Now, I just need to ssh in and get the whole shebang set up!

All the best,

I have follow the instruction on: http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv7 ... /odroid-xu
It seems to work but I cannot see anything on the screen. I can log with ssh and work on the Odroid-XU like this. but I cannot see anything from the HDMI connected to my screen, the screen does detect that the Odroid-xu is started but the screen displays a blank scree. Any ideas on how to fix this.

Cheers.

For those who want Xorg running...

Install xorg and fbdev packages.
Install the hwcomposer package (exynos5-hwcomposer)

profit :)

Which X env is fully working? GNOME? Cinnamon? KDE?

Is there already full HW 3d acc enabled on the board?

All of them work. Configure them.

As for 2d/3d, mdrjr can answer that better, but there is at least some.
