Hey all,

I have a bit of a problem with the sata boot. I wanted to switch to one of the debian systems but my pogoplug boots from nothing except the sata hdd. I tried all the revert procedures I found but without the sata device the LED just stays dead and netconsole isn't working...

Can anyone give me a hint on what to try to boot debian? I found many tutorials but they all need a working netconsole (which I don't have at this point)

If I understand you right, it sounds like SATA booting is working fine for you, but that you can't boot from NAND, neither before nor after trying to revert it to stock. Perhaps your question belongs in a different thread about reverting, where you might share the output from the revert script, which you could run after booting from SATA.

I just came accross this. For $5 it's almost a cheap as making your own.

I'm using a homemade hacked together version, it works just fine. Its really no different power wise than using a laptop drive, and a lot of people are doing that.

Tom,

I'm curious which box do you use this with? The Pogo V3 has internal SATA port, so you'd need another cable to have eSATA connector?

Many people have hacked the v3 to install an eSata port. Done right it almost looks factory.

Yeah, I knew WarheadsSE did a nice mod for eSATA port. But thanks for the link, it will be handy someday.
