Help with Read Only Arch Linux System

Postby grayman4hire » Sat Jan 25, 2014 1:49 am

I have a Pogoplug E02 with a USB flash drive that is dedicated to run one function. Nothing complex, just a web server serving up some files and a script that's run as a service.

I'm looking for a way to make the system read only so that I can simply pull the power cord without having to worry about corrupting the USB drive.

Any suggestions? Thanks

I probably want to mount rootfs as ro and make certain directories tmpfs, and cutback on logging so it doesn't overfill ram

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('moonman', 'I') probably want to mount rootfs as ro and make certain directories tmpfs, and cutback on logging so it doesn't overfill ram

Thanks for the reply @moonman!

Making the rootfs ro make sense. I was wondering what would happen to the logging. Would it just fail? I don't really care for the any logging really.
