XBMC video playback

Postby axiomaticincoherance » Thu Aug 21, 2014 6:57 pm

How do you get video to play through xbmc? Whenever I try only the audio plays with the visualisation in the background. The logs report the following error message:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '1')9:24:19 T:2972709936 ERROR: COMXCoreComponent::DecoderEventHandler OMX.broadcom.video_decode - OMX_ErrorInsufficientResources, insufficient resources
19:24:19 T:2735875120 ERROR: OMXPlayerVideo : Error open video output

I believe it's because I haven't installed the correct packages to enable hardware acceleration. Could anyone who has managed to get xbmc to work properly tell me what packages they installed or send me the output of
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'pacman -Q')
so that I can find the right packages?

Mine are listed here: http://pastebin.com/vvzNRu52 and my full xbmc log is http://pastebin.com/qmHX3EgJ. I have a model B+ by the way.

You should increase the memory allocated to the gpu.

XBMC need at least 128M GPU memory to fully working.

Modify /boot/config.txt with adding gpu_mem=128

Thanks for the tip it worked like a charm. What I ended up doing was editing the line near the end of /boot/config.txt to be
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'gpu_mem_512=128')
