no space left on device

Postby joemegahertz » Fri Sep 12, 2014 5:46 am

This is my second install for a goflex net. First one what off pretty much painlessly (thanx for the sata help everyone). Bought another flex figured it would be just as easy however....

Follow the standard guide for installing flex goes fine until I start downloading the latest kirkwood tar.gz

I get to approx 31% every time and then this comes up:

get: write error: No space left on device

I have tried several different usb sticks 2.0 3.0 8 gig all the way up to 32 gig and the same problem keeps happening.
I am at a lost for what to do. This didn't happen last time and I have tried several times per drive.

I followed the install exactly as last time. I am a linux newbie overall so please use small words :D if there are other commands or a diffrent way to go about it. Any help appreciated

thanx alot everyone

Check that post. You'll need to cd to /tmp/alarm before wgeting, you may also encounter the issue with bsdtar..

So after step 11 i'd cd /tmp/alarm
then i get confused

Excuse my ignorance but I never started getting into linux until recently and all the installs have gone as easy as windows. bsdtar is just a unpacking program i think, thats why you just use --xzvf in place?

do i just
wget http://archlinuxarm.org/os/ArchLinuxARM ... est.tar.gz
inside my /tmp/alarm folder
then
/tmp/alarm # tar -xzvf ArchLinuxARM-kirkwood-latest.tar.gz?

then continue on with the install as normal?

Thanx for any help I could get!

Yes, after step 11 you cd /tmp/alarm
You may try to ./bsdtar -xpf ArchLinuxARM-kirkwood-latest.tar.gz (without -C alarm) but it didn't worked for me. :?
If so, just do a tar -xzvf ArchLinuxARM and continue.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('haiku', ' ')./bsdtar -xpf ArchLinuxARM-kirkwood-latest.tar.gz (without -C alarm)

This will never work unless you downloaded bsdtar binary into /tmp/alarm
