Resource Optimization

Postby apowell656 » Mon Dec 15, 2014 11:54 pm

I am trying to maximize my PogoPlug resources and have a couple of questions.

1. Webmin - is there any true advantage to using this? As I look at the modules I think the only ones I may truly miss are: System Startup and Backups
2. Swapfile/disk - my system is on 500 GB USB drive any real benefits

I've found webmin helpful for performing tasks with samba and cronie, but I probably don't need it running all the time. I could start it when needed and then stop it when I'm done.
For the swap file, on my V2 pogoplug It doesn't seem to be used very much and I haven't found much benefit. On my V3 with 128K, it does appear to be used frequently, but I only set the swap file size to be the same as the RAM, so its smaller than I usually see in the examples.

That's what I am finding. Really curious to see what others are doing.
