Apache Cassandra NoSQL database Request

Postby InnerArtFlow » Mon Dec 15, 2014 10:14 pm

Hi was wondering why there isn´t a Apache Cassandra package for Arch Linux Arm?
I´d like to use it with multi cluster node js webservers that uses Cassandra(RaspberryPis).

Is there perhaps some good reason why it wouldn´t be pratical?
The intension is to try create no single point of failure webservers with databases that load balance each other.

There seems to be a Arch Linux package i dont know if i should use that one
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/cassandra/
rather then the one apache cassandra website.

Is even worth having as arm package?

Any help is appriciated.
:D

If you look close, that is -bin.tar.gz .. looks like it is NOT a source tarball, thus wouldn't compile.

Ok cool I see at the download page at cassandra website http://cassandra.apache.org/download/
there is a link to http://www.apache.org/dyn/closer.cgi?path=/cassandra/2.1.2/apache-cassandra-2.1.2-src.tar.gz
that leads to a page that in turn has the link to the source i think
http://apache.mirrors.spacedump.net/cassandra/2.1.2/apache-cassandra-2.1.2-src.tar.gz

If there is like a compile tutorial somewhere and it isn´t to hard i might give it a try.

Thanks for all the help so far.
