kodi-imx

Postby PyroDevil » Tue Jan 13, 2015 8:16 am

Hi updated the xbmc-imx package to kodi.
I also made a hackish patch to get the touchscreen working right:
https://gist.github.com/anonymous/f999cb88cdf75079deda
Apply it if you like
Update: To clarify, this patch is for a Acer T272HUL with a 1920x1080 resolution.

Cheers,
Pyro

P.S.: Its kodi version 14, for those who find this post sometime in the future ;)

Have you installed on a new system? Think it needs libva in depends to run, as fas as I can remember.
Also future builds will need --disable-openmax in configure.

Thanks pepedog, libva somehow got lost.
I didn't checked it against a new system, but at least the missing libva dependency revealed ldd.
I also added --disable-openmax to the configure options.

This is going to install on a pacman -Syu if xbmc-imx-git is installed, isn't it?
I'd rather not do that

You mean the replaces array?
I just took that part from the kodi-rbp package
(https://github.com/archlinuxarm/PKGBUILDs/blob/master/alarm/kodi-rbp/PKGBUILD)

I pushed a version with:
replaces=("xbmc-imx")

You got a mention in .install file of /etc/udev/rules.d/10-vchiq-permissions.rules which is rpi of course.

And perhaps we could discuss here removing gtk-update-icon-cache and update-desktop-database as launching kodi/xbmc within X causes trouble for users on imx6

I removed messages from the .install file. Didn't know it was rpi specific because I never tried to do it ;)
Should the .install file also contain stopping the kodi service before removal or upgrade?

Never tried running kodi on X, so I don't know how hard it is.

We don't do start/stop of service in install like Fedora does, it's up to the user.

It's not the starting of xbmc in X, it's the quitting
