Pink Pogoplug not booting after Arch Linux ARM install Linux install

Postby coastal » Sun Feb 13, 2011 12:56 am

I'm following http://www.Arch Linux ARM.com/index.php5?titl ... ug_Setboot and all went well until I rebooted;

3. Reboot. Cross your fingers and hope for the best.
cd ..
umount usb
/sbin/reboot

The pink pogoplug is no longer listed under the router's device list and I get no answer from ping the IP address I had set up for it. No light is displayed. When I boot the pogoplug with the usb stick a green light is displayed and I can ping with no problem.

Is it case that the USB stick probably is being rejected by the pogoplug? If so I can obtain another stick but as I'm pretty much a newbie to linux I'm unsure of where in the instructions do I pick up from - is it from 'Install Arch Linux ARM install Linux 1a'? Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

Ah success. I tried a different usb stick (happened to be a matching pink one) and ran through the Arch Linux ARM install linux install and managed to successfully reboot this time.

You know, twice I have failed on a fresh install.
The last time it happened I noted something strange, stick was new formatted fat32 and in fdisk printed partitions, when creating new fdisk told me I had a higher figure of blocks. Creating again with a lower figure ended with success.
