cubieboard2 does not boot with uboot 2015.01-1

Hello.

uboot-cubieboard2-2015.01-1 stops my cubieboard2 from booting.

I tried to open two issues on github, without success: https://github.com/archlinuxarm/PKGBUILDs/issues/1071

I think the issue is real: to further narrow the problem, I booted a fresh arch sdcard image (http://archlinuxarm.org/os/ArchLinuxARM ... est.tar.gz, 02-Jan-2015 08:00, md5: [/i]291d118d2a06787aebd5749c01ade6bf[/i]) and tried to boot it using the newer uboot.

When flashing uboot-cubieboard2 2014.04-10 the board started booting again.

So:

- arch system image as of 2015-01-02 (with uboot 2014.04-10) -> BOOTS NORMALLY
- arch system image as of 2015-01-02 (with uboot 2015.01-1) -> DOES NOT BOOT
- updated arch (the same as before with the following updates applied: linux-sun7i-3.4.103-5, [...], shadow-4.2.1-2, uboot-cubieboard2-2015.01-1) -> DOES NOT BOOT

There's a radical change between those versions of uboot. See this thread for more information.

it sounds like you're mis-matching the rootfs and the kernel. The latest "2015.01" image with md5 ee5c0bfc7f5539720585940f9ec63aa boots fine* as does the previous that has MD5 291d118d2a06787aebd5749c01ade6bf.

I just did some tests myself and got a successful* boot from both, following the official instructions.

* Although it boots, I found that the Jan24 image has a problem with nand flash, which is why I was testing this and found your post.
