mpd plugin cdio_paranoia

Hi!

I hope this is the correct section of this forum.

So far the only Distribution supporting a new version of mpd (0.19) I could find is Arch.
I've been searching for this version because only later version are supporting th cdio_paranoia plugin to be able to play audio cd's via cdda:// as input. But - bad luck - this seems to be the only feature not beeing compiled into this version.

Is there a chance to have this feature enabled - other than compile it myself?

All packages come from upstream with the exception of the ones that don't build for ARM as-is and need to be modified. MPD is not one of them.
I would suggest submitting a feature request on archlinux bugtracker:
https://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/i686/mpd/ In package actions click "Add new bug", it will take to a new page where you need to change Task type: Bug report to Feature request. Also, rebuilding is easy for such a small package: modify add whatever feature you need in PKGBUILD and run makepkg

Thank you for your Answer. I will follow your recommendation.

Unfortunately rebuilding is not really fast. I tried to build mpd on raspbian and had to download almost 1GB in dependencies.

Raspbian is debian and they package things differently. You will only need 2 extra packages to build it (which makepkg -s will download for you)
