No video playback on Kodi

Postby jebarb » Tue Feb 17, 2015 2:04 am

I've gotten everything set up properly on my RPI 2, but when I try to play a video in Kodi it just shows a progress bar, skips to 11 seconds, and doesn't actually play anything. No sound on any videos and it doesn't even go to a blank screen, just a progress bar as if something is playing in the background. Openelec works fine, everything else in Arch works fine, including Kodi, but I can't get any videos to play. This is on a fresh Kodi install with default settings. All packages are up to date, and I'm on kodi-rbp. Have also tried kodi-rbp-git to no avail.

Had the same issue the first time I tried kodi on arch with the pi2, it was because I forgot to modify gpu_mem in config.txt

As the default in Arch is 64MB it wasn't enough..! It took me a few hours to understand my mistake so, what is your gpu_mem setting ?
Works flawlessly with 384MB

That did the trick. Thought that memory allocation looked low, but I forgot all about it.
