[Jack2] not avail w/o dbus

Postby keithspg » Mon May 25, 2015 3:18 pm

Hi, First post here. I searched on this and cannot seem top find anything on it. I am running runeaudio on my pi and pi2 which is a stripped down version of arch. When I install jack2, all I get is the dbus version. When I search on info on Arch Linux on this, it appears that there are 2 versions Jack2 and Jack2-dbus. Since I am headless, I think all I need is the Jack2 package. I have built it and am trying to diagnose another kernel issue, but wanted to find out what is the best way to do this. I'd prefer just using pacman and installing it, but do not need dbus as I do not have a desktop.

Thoughts? Are there supposed to be 2 versions for Arch for the Rpi?

DBus is not a desktop-only subsystem.

Here is the PKGBUILD we use, which should be generating the two, which I see separately here for both v6 and v7

Thanks for the clarification. I tried to run jackd (with jack2 installed) and it gave me an error which required a different call (dbus-something jackdmp?) and I assumed the non-dbus was not installed. I built it locally and was able to run jack2 without dbus. Guess I'll have to research dbus and see if that is why I am having problems.

Thanks!
