CuBox-i 4x4: which drivers to use for wifi and Bluetooth 4?

Postby Oleg » Tue Jun 23, 2015 2:22 pm

I assume that new CuBox-i 4x4 has a different wireless chipset as it supports Bluetooth 4.0.

Which driver(s) and/or package(s) should I install to enable wireless communications on this device?

Start with letting us know what lsusb/lspci say abou that wireless card. Since we have no information at all to go on, it would only be wild guessing.

Thank you for indications!

I am afraid, but the output of both commands is not quite informative:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '[root@alarm-4x4 ~]# lsusb
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
[root@alarm-4x4 ~]# lspci
[root@alarm-4x4 ~]#')

Well that is cute. Check dmesg for any sign of the mysterious device.

So far I was able to detect only these relevant lines:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '[ 7.107094] usbcore: registered new interface driver brcmfmac
[ 7.350188] brcmfmac: brcmf_c_preinit_dcmds: Firmware version = wl0: Oct 25 2011 19:34:12 version 5.90.125.104')

I was told that I need to use same drivers as for CuBox-i4pro, so I just need to follow instrucions in Solid-Run wiki
(http://wiki.solid-run.com/index.php?tit ... FI_drivers):

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'pacman -Sy firmware-brcm43xx wpa_actiond dialog
wifi-menu
systemctl enable netctl-auto@wlan0')

I already installes these packages and run wifi-menu, my local wifi networks were succesfully detected, so I asume that old drivers support new chipset in CuBox-i 4x4. Plan to run more test later as I am very interested to get Bluetooth 4.0 working!
