chromium not working

Postby hmeyer » Fri Jul 31, 2015 8:35 am

some days ago chromium was updated to chromium-44.0.2403.125-1, but can't be launched.
When I try to launch it from the desktop it dies silently, trying to start it from the command line gives:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '
')[hmeyer@alarmpi ~]$ chromium
[640:640:0731/100928:ERROR:sandbox_linux.cc(345)] InitializeSandbox() called with multiple threads in process gpu-process
Speicherzugriffsfehler (Speicherabzug geschrieben)
[hmeyer@alarmpi ~]$

my hardware/software is raspberry pi2 / archlinuxarm_v7&lxde

Does anybody have more information on that?

The sandbox error displays on Chromium 44.0.2403.107-1 (harmless?) but that version works, whereas the newer version coredumps.

Using an ODROID-C1 here and chromium-44.0.2403.125-1 is dumping its core , in the meantime I downgraded to a previous version that works with:

sudo pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/chromium-44.0.2403.107-1-armv7h.pkg.tar.xz

I have the same problem on Raspberry Pi2.
uname -r: 4.1.4-1-ARCH
Current version: 44.0.2403.130-1
The error appeared after the system upgrade which resulted in updating Chromium from *.107. After that I tried to upgrade and found out that the Chromium version in "extra" is lower that my installed one. So I downgraded to *.107, but it didn't help.
Did anyone else solve the issue?

Thanks

Updated to *.130 but still having the same problem.
Can't downgrade to 107 because I deleted cache (downgrade doesn't seem to help anyway).
When I try to add flash to chromium I get an error message:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '
')[root@alarmpi hmeyer]# pacman -S chromium-pepper-flash
...
(1/1) Installiere chromium-pepper-flash [######################] 100%
cat: : Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden
sed: kann nicht lesen: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden
Fehler: Befehl konnte nicht korrekt ausgeführt werden
[root@alarmpi hmeyer]#

May be some file is not at a place where it is expected to be?

@hmeyer: I remember having the same messages when I first installed Pepperflash. Months ago as Chromium was alright :D
Then I added a line to the Chromium shortcut in MATE and Pepperflash got added to the browser.

New version, same error: chromium-44.0.2403.155-1

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '[7121:7121:0815/002253:ERROR:sandbox_linux.cc(345)] InitializeSandbox() called with multiple threads in process gpu-process
Segmentation fault (core dumped)')

44.0.2403.107-1 starts and runs fine if I downgrade although I still get the sandbox error.
