Thanks a lot

after recompiling the driver and reinstalling dmesg -c gives this

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '[root@alarmpi ~]# sudo dmesg -c
[ 360.350479] usb 1-1.4: USB disconnect, device number 4
[ 360.356373] RTL871X: rtw_ndev_uninit(wlan0)
[ 365.445628] usb 1-1.5: new high-speed USB device number 5 using dwc_otg
[ 365.566980] usb 1-1.5: New USB device found, idVendor=7392, idProduct=a812
[ 365.574032] usb 1-1.5: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber
=3
[ 365.581555] usb 1-1.5: Product: Edimax AC600 USB
[ 365.586377] usb 1-1.5: Manufacturer: Edimax
[ 365.590667] usb 1-1.5: SerialNumber: 00e04c000001
[ 365.807031] RTL871X: rtw_ndev_init(wlan0) ')

Guess Im on the right track since there is a wlan0, but ifconfig does not show it:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'eth0: flags=4163<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
inet 192.168.0.242 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.0.255
inet6 fe80::ba27:ebff:fe5c:6092 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x20<link>

RX errors 0 dropped 1 overruns 0 frame 0
TX packets 924 bytes 141057 (137.7 KiB)
TX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 carrier 0 collisions 0

lo: flags=73<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING> mtu 65536
inet 127.0.0.1 netmask 255.0.0.0
inet6 ::1 prefixlen 128 scopeid 0x10<host>
loop txqueuelen 0 (Local Loopback)

RX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 frame 0
TX packets 166 bytes 13150 (12.8 KiB)
TX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 carrier 0 collisions 0 ')

Anything else that I have to do to activate it? If I try to do ifconfig wlan0 up it says:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '[root@alarmpi ~]# sudo ifconfig wlan0 up
SIOCSIFFLAGS: Operation not permitted ')

Best regards / Fernando

Does it show up in iwconfig?

You can try to unblock with rfkill that might fix it for you.

Cheers
