bcm2708-rng missing?

Postby ezzetabi » Mon Apr 18, 2016 7:12 am

I just installed archlinuxarm and updated once in a raspberry pi (2b) and its systemd state is already degraded.

I checked the logs and it turns out that the systemd-modules-load.service fails to load. In particular it is missing the random number generator module as requested from the /etc/modules-load.d/raspberrypi.conf file.

Besides, also trying to load it manually fails:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
# modprobe bcm2708-rng
modprobe: FATAL: Module bcm2708-rng not found in directory /lib/modules/4.4.7-3-ARCH
')

Am I missing a package? Is there a problem with the kernel? My hardware has no support for rng? What I am supposed to do?

It appears relevant that rngd works fine. The available entropy bumped up to ~3000 just after activating it even if the module is not there.
