Same here. I restored a previous image and hopefully our devs will think this out. :)

Sure. But you should have a backup image first. I backup the image of the sd card each week. you can use dd utility to backup and restore a image from linux.

Hi,

today I installed the kernel and uboot util update as well. So far I did not restart the odroid. But did realized the following hint?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', ' ')>>> Note: boot.ini is no longer used. Make any customizations within /boot/boot.txt
and run ./mkscr within /boot to convert it to the boot.scr file.

In my case, running $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', './mkscr') in the /boot directory result in the following warning message:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'm')kimage not found. Please install uboot-tools:
pacman -S uboot-tools

I had to install the uboot-tools in addition. However, since I fear the restart (and possibly a broken system) I can't comment on the question if this is the solution to your problem.

Hope this helps.

P.S.: Why I did not restart so far? Currently after running the bootloader from SD card my system starts from an hdd. Unfortunately the boot.txt file has a lot of changes, I have to figure out how to boot from hdd before restarting the odroid. Does anyone have an idea how to proceed in this direction?

@sachilles

If you do reboot, can you let us know if it's ok? I'm curios if uboot-tools package can fix our problem.

New update via pacman. Now we have kernel 3.10.102-3 and reboot works.
Big thanks to devs.

I ran into the same issue and I'm not able to boot my XU4 even after a completely fresh install. I tried different Samsung UHS1 micro SD cards and different USB adapters, but no luck. All the steps in the install guide complete normally, but if I try to mount the card afterwards to check the filesystem, it fails with a generic error saying it's a bad partition or superblock.

My XU4 had been running fine for the last year, taking updatesevery week or so. The recent update wanted to rebuild uboot and after rebooting, it was dead (solid red led, no blue led).

Anyone know when a fix will be available??
