kexec_load fails on Samsung XE303C12

Postby Melab » Sat Apr 15, 2017 2:47 am

I am running the ALARM release for the Samsung XE303C12 on an SD card and I've been trying to see if I can the stock kernel to print anything to the screen by using kexec to bypass the prepending of console/screen-silencing arguments by the firmware. I ran into some problems executing it with the stock kernel after unpacking them from their vboot wrappings. I tried it instead with the zImage ALARM installs to boot and I got

kexec_load failed: Invalid argument
entry = 0x40008000 flags = 0x28000

How do I fix this and get it to work?

Is kexec configured at all in the ALARM kernel?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'gunzip -c /proc/config.gz |grep KEXEC
# CONFIG_KEXEC is not set
')
