Downloading a package's source code

Postby Melab » Sun May 07, 2017 12:18 am

I'm most familiar with Ubuntu. On Ubuntu, the source code of a particular package can be downloaded by running

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'apt-get source <package>')

I searched the web with Google for some Arch Linux equivalent using pacman, but I could not find any. How can I download the source code used to compile a particular package that is installed by running pacman? Say, I wanted to download the ALARM source code for the util-linux package? How would I do that?

I am using the ALARM for the Samsung ARM Chromebook.

All the sources are listed inside the PKGBUILD (with checksums and some with signatures), and you can use makepkg to pull those sources. Down.

So, what command would I run?

But how do I get those files? There is no link to an archive containing them.
