[kodi-rpi] missing shutdown from the power menu

Postby graysky » Tue May 09, 2017 12:05 am

Somewhat recently it seems, the power menu on our kodi-rpi package only displays one item, "exit" whereas in the past, it contained an option to shutdown and reboot. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Do you start it via systemd service? If I remember right, there was a problem with the session.
Did you try to start it local with logged in user?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Kabbone', 'D')o you start it via systemd service? If I remember right, there was a problem with the session.

Correct, it is starting as the systemd service. I do not have a DE installed on the RPi3.

Seems like a dbus problem when I grep out ERROR I get:

you don't need a DE, just login in tty and start kodi with "kodi"

No, not available there either...the plot thickens: the shutdown and reboot options are available on other RPi3 boxes so whatever is affect this is unique to my particular machine. I rules out something in my kodi profile by renaming /var/lib/kodi (the homedir) and creating a fresh one.. again, just exit. Any thoughts are welcomed. My preference is not to wipe out the card and reinstall.

Removing kodi-rbp and all its dependencies, rebooting, then reinstalling it fixed the problem. Note that I did not delete /var/lib/kodi, it is the same as it always was. Can't explain.
