RPi3 linux-raspberrypi-4.9.28-1 IQaudio DAC not working!

Hello!
I found that the latest kernel for the RPi3 doesn't handle the IQAudio DAC i have. I rolled back to 4.9.27-1 and it works. It is possibly temporary and will get fixed in the next kernel(hope so) but i am curious why it doesn't recognize it. Any help with this?
