missing network - nanopi M1

Postby mentaluproar » Fri Jun 16, 2017 1:06 am

I managed to get my nanopi M1 running archlinuxarm but I cannot get the network adaptor to work. I know the hardware works, and I have tested it out with armbian, but I cannot figure out why arch doesn't see the hardware. I'm running the latest kernel and u-boot, all mainline.

It has an AllWinner H3 SoC. According to the Mainlining Effort Status Matrix ( http://sunxi.org/Linux_mainlining_effort#Status_Matrix ) Ethernet support for the H3 is planned for kernel 4.13. This would explain why current mainline kernel does not give network.

I can't believe I overlooked that. Thanks. I se dwmac-sun8i will be merged in then. How can I add it to the current kernel? I've never done that before.

Here's the new driver: https://github.com/montjoie/linux/tree/dwmac-sun8i-v6
