I noticed that on aarch64, the java executable built from the java8-openjdk-aarch64 package is a "zero VM". It is interpreter-only, therefore it is very slow for some non-trivial tasks. However, the official OpenJDK does support JIT compiling on AArch64. My questions are:
1. Why is the default build using the zero VM?
2. Is there any pre-built OpenJDK binaries for AArch64 with JIT enabled that can be used on ArchLinuxARM?
